In 2019, a few SuperGames board members discovered their love for pickleball while playing at local parks. As they recognized the sport’s rising popularity, the idea sparked to incorporate it into SuperGames' programming. That same year, SuperGames acquired a 40,000 square foot warehouse in Worthington, Ohio, and after remodeling, found an unused 5,000 square foot section that seemed perfect for pickleball.
With the help of an all-volunteer team—including 15 board members and friends—the unused space was transformed into two state-of-the-art indoor pickleball courts. They added premium features such as padded walls, a net divider, acoustic panels, and high-visibility lighting, creating a top-tier experience. Just as the courts opened, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. But thanks to health mandates, SuperGames developed a rotating player system with strict safety protocols, allowing limited, safe play to continue.
The success of that self-managed system inspired the creation of the Pickleball Ambassador model, where trusted players manage small groups, oversee court use, and communicate with participants. This low-overhead, community-driven approach remains in place today, and has proven to be both effective and sustainable—requiring no SuperGames staff on-site and encouraging a strong sense of responsibility among players.

With no reservation fees, no pro shop, and no hidden costs—just great courts, fair pricing, and a simple honor-based pay system—SuperGames has created a space that reflects its core mission: providing accessible, high-quality recreation. The result is a warm, welcoming environment where players take pride in what they’ve helped build.
